Employee Recognition – Building Bridges Not Walls

June 26, 2013 by Diana Leave a Comment

06.26.13A consistent, one-on-one assessment with your staff provides an effective two-way forum. By doing so, you are setting realistic achievement targets, an effective way to provide feedback on performance, and are able to listen to and study any problems employees may have. For example, a sales executive may feel that they are under performing, when in fact it’s not their performance but sales targets have been set too high.

During the evaluation, these individuals could be reviewed and set at more realistic levels. After the goals have been met and the targets achieved, it is fair to recognize your employee’s effort in doing their best.

1. Why Should you consider Employee Recognition?

Employee recognition should take center stage.  Employee recognition provides your staff with the reason to go on, push a little harder, and achieve their dreams as well. You can do this proving opportunity that will allow them to prove themselves worthy of the job you have trusted them with.

2. Plan at time for  Employee Recognition

Planned recognition is more of a pre-coordinated plan. Depending on how often you do it, it does not have to be formal. Some of the most common recognition awards are customer service, attendance, outstanding achievements, employee of the month, safety and productivity

The main purpose of employee recognition is to build connections, establish communication, and to acknowledge the value of each employee in establishing the success of the whole organization.

The main benefit of coaching was simply the reworking of my priorities to bring some semblance of balance back into my life as it applied to my family relationships and personal well-being.

Creating a Framework for Success as a Sustainable Leader in a Socially Connected Environment
Being a sustainable leader isn’t just a ‘touchy-feely’ term. It’s about creating innovation and collaboration within your environment. It’s about accomplishing goals that matter. And yes, it’s even about improving the bottom line of your business.

Because nothing is sustainable if it doesn’t “increase profitability and your competitive advantage.”
